Total Time: Approx. 1 hour 25 minutes
Ingredients:
3 jars Polar Fuji Apple Slices in Light Syrup
½ cup packed Brown Sugar
3 tbsp Cornstarch
1 tsp Cinnamon
½ tsp Nutmeg
Pinch of Salt
4 tbsp Unsalted Butter, sliced
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
½ tsp Lemon Juice
2 9-inch Pie Crusts (store-bought or homemade)
Instructions:
Prepare the Apple Filling:
1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
2. In a saucepan, empty the jars of Polar Fuji Apple Slices with their light syrup. Add cornstarch, brown sugar, and a pinch of salt.
3. Stirring constantly, bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat. Let it boil for 1-2 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat.
4. Stir in vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice until well combined.
Assemble the Pie:
1. Line a 9-inch pie pan with one of the pie crusts. Trim any excess dough from the edges.
2. Pour the prepared apple filling into the lined pie crust.
3. Distribute the sliced butter evenly over the top of the apple filling.
4. Place the second pie crust over the filling. Use a fork to crimp the edges of the crusts together. Optionally, cover the edge of the pie crust with aluminum foil to prevent excessive browning.
Bake the Pie:
1. Bake the pie in the preheated oven at 425°F (220°C) for 10 minutes.
2. Reduce the oven temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for another 30 to 40 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
3. Once baked, remove the pie from the oven and place it on a wire rack to cool for at least 30 minutes.
Serve and Enjoy:
Serve the apple pie warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra indulgent treat.
